Abstract
The key question is to find answers to why and when and how we lose above-average students / talents in mathematics. The starting point is the development of talent care in history, followed by a series of case studies in which similarities and differences can be sought.
In conclusion, the main causes (9) are classified, which the author currently considers significant.
