Abstract

Pupils' attitude towards a particular subject is often considered as the important identifier of the quality of teaching. There are a number of researches that focus on pupils' attitude towards mathematics.

The main goal of our research was to find the incentives, stimuli, that result in changes of primary pupils' attitudes to mathematics. As the research method, we used both structured and non-structured observation.

For six months, we were observing 22 pupils from 1st-5th grades of primary school, 3-4 pupils from each school involved in the research. Based on the collected data we developed a set of 18 incentives.

These incentives will be further considered in our following up research.
