Abstract

The conference "Semiotics and Ideology" is organized by the Department of Electronic Culture and Semiotics, Faculty of Humanities, Charles University and the Ptakopysk Student Association. It is the first student conference focusing on the relevance of semiotics in the study of social and media representation of ideologies.

This issue includes a theoretical analysis of ideological tools in the semiotic or cognitive-semiotic perspective and is related to the following fields of semiotics in communication studies: visual rhetoric, argumentation theory, critical discourse analysis and similar. The conference aims to bring together students who are interested in ideology or its partial aspects.
