Abstract
HDR brachytherapy of penis is suitable organ-sparing method of treatment for selected patients. A total of 28 patients were treated at the Department of Oncology and radiotherapy at University Hospital Hradec Králové between 2002 and 2020 for early penile tumor using high-dose rate brachytherapy (HDR brachytherapy), the total dose was 18x 3 Gy, applied twice a day.
Hyperfractional interstitial high-dose rate brachytherapy with 18 times 3Gy fraction twice daily is a promising method in selected patients with penile carcinoma and deserves further evaluation in larger prospective study.
