The paper is concerned with the issue of the concept of the game in the Russian postmodern novel "The Slynx" by Tatyana Tolstaya. The article gives an analysis of the typology of the games in the text.

Besides this, it deals with the problem of Intertextuality in postmodern text and its impact on the reader. The article considers the implementation of three principles in the novel as the main concepts of the game.

First of all, play of the text, as a free play of a running mechanism, initiated thanks to the initial charge of the text for the game. It is generated by the juxtaposition of the two basic ideological and stylistic formations and the active penetration of intertextual inclusions into the text (hidden dialogism of linguistic structures, the game of associative fields of Soviet / Russian realities and the game of translation between the two mentioned formations).

Secondly, it is the playing of signs, namely language game in the broadest sense of the word, game of the author, as a scriptor, with the reader (numerous language games based on guessing, thinking out various aspects of nominations, supplementing or simply playing of words and meanings). And, finally, the game with the rules of the game, which is present as a proposal to return to the point of the beginning of the text / main game, start a new round of the spiral, create a new version of the playing space (play as the production of novelty through cyclicity and endless repetition).
