Abstract
The proposed paper deals with possible legislative approaches to ecodesign. The concept of ecodesign can be understood either as a way of thinking about the ecological impacts of a product during its entire life cycle, or as a set of parameters and requirements demanded on the final product (especially regarding energy efficiency).
The aim of this paper is to analyze how ecodesign is embedded in European Union law as well as in national legislation, and to point out few possible shortcomings, especially in the comprehensive approach to the concept of ecodesign
