Extraneous Influences and Origins of the Sacred Architecture in the Iron Age Judah

Abstract

The architecture of the Judahite temples was influenced by local typology and also by foreign styles. The Tel Moca temple close to Jerusalem had similarities with temples in Anatolia and Syria (known as "megaron") and much earlier in Aegean region and Mesopotamia.
