What brings the complex view to triazole fungicides impact

Abstract

Triazoles influence the enzymes (14α-demethylase and aromatase), included in the sterol synthesis. However, the spectrum of influenced enzymes might be broather, because triazoles influence the production of e.g. flavonoids and chlorophylls.

Moreover, their presence together with antioxidants or essential metals and other cations significantly influences the redox potential of the system. Moreover, the impact on enzymes is also influenced by other chemicals present in the system.

We are talking about the cocktail effect. The cocktail effect is created by the contribution of other triazoles present in the treating mixture and by essential elements with biological activity (e.g.

Cu+ or Cu2+) or eventually with other naturally present biologically active agents. The chemical/biochemical activity of triazoles is tansformed by their interaction mostly with essential metals.

They can form complexes or decay. It is important to notice that the final impact is hardly predicable without the experimental view.

It might be alarming that the presence of triazole in the plant-soil system change increase the production of some flavonoids. And the presence of azoles in soil decreases the amount of green biomass as well as fruits and chlorophylls.
