The definition of the "socially responsible public procurement" (SRPP), cannot be found in any legal regulation. Nevertheless, it is an institute that is becoming increasingly important in public procurement.
It can be defined as a set of activities and procedures of the public contracting authority, by which it increases the benefits of the spent financial means, especially by targeting the support of socially and environmentally beneficial projects. The aim of this paper is a brief introduction of the purpose of the socially responsible public procurement, a summary of the content of relevant provisions and a suggestion, on how to apply the institute and the related procedures in practice.
