Abstract

Political map of the twentieth century is characterized by differnt levels of political stability, territorial control or economic development in different reagions. Many areas witness increased activity of politically or economically motivated violent non-state actors such as jihadist groups, naroccartels, separatists, or warlords.

Despite their medial portrayal as a cause of instability and threat to the surrounding world, their goals and impacts and very different. This book presents selected key variables that allow us to analyze the acitivites of violent non-state actors and apply them on wide array of cases from throughout the world.

This all framed inside the neomedieval theory that allows the reader to better grasp the concept inside which these actors operate.
