Antithrombotic treatment in interventional cardiology in 2020

Abstract

Correct antithrombotic therapy is one of the basic prerequisites for successful endovascular treatment of ischemic heart disease. The type of antithrombotic treatment - both antiplatelet and anticoagulant - varies according to the type of clinical manifestation, the method of revascularization and associated diseases.

Antithrombotic therapy is also indicated in the prevention of thrombosis on the implanted system during non-coronary interventions. This complication is rare but serious.

However, for a large proportion of these patients, this treatment must be individualized. In addition, there is limited data from clinical trials on optimal antithrombotic therapy in patients after non-coronary interventions.
