Abstract

Since the beginning of the 21st century, discussions on the problems of transition to a digital economy and a digital society have been held, and in this regard, digital technologies have been gradually implemented into the education process. Since then, the development of digital technologies has progressed rapidly and educational institutions of different types and levels have created various distance courses.

However, due to the difficulties linked with the coronavirus epidemic, education systems around the world have been forced to transform into digital form. In this regard, problems associated with the lack of a special teaching methodology arose, in particular - a methodology of teaching foreign languages with information and communication technologies (ICT).

There is an acute issue of the development of digital competencies for both teachers and students. We need to conduct high-quality training and retraining of teachers of Russian as a foreign language.

Teachers must be able to use digital competence not only for their own needs, but also to support teaching process.
