Interdisciplinary Relationships in Art Education

Publication at Faculty of Education |
2020

Abstract

The visual language used within art education is a way of communication and expression of a variety of content. Artistic expression, as well as music or literature, describes the world around us or in us.

The use of interdisciplinary links to other disciplines in art education is therefore completely natural and desirable, the interdisciplinarity is even supposed to be found at every art task. The aim of the chapter in the handbook is to reflect on the position of art education in general education and to consider the potential of art education to employ interdisciplinary relationships in the teaching practice.
