The Secret Life of Plants – Roots in Interaction with the Rhizosphere

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2020

Abstract

Despite the fact that roots are usually hidden part of plants, they are crucial for their survival. Root structure developed during evolution and adapted to soil environment to carry out principal functions.

The root system structure develops and responds to environmental conditions. On the other hand, plants actively modify the physicochemical properties of the edaphic environment, as well as the biotic community within the rhizosphere.
