At the authors' workplace, physics lecture demonstrations (DEMOs) have been performed for secondary school students on weekly basis for more than 30 years. Seven different physics topics are currently offered.
These topics are perceived relatively differently by students. The aim of the paper is to present a categorical system created within a video study aimed at searching for parameters that determine the positive perception of DEMOs by students.
The categorical system is focused on the interaction between the performer and the audience.
