Abstract
The paper is focused on the analysis of the word-formation types of names of persons in the new Czech vocabulary: they were excerpted mainly from neology dictionaries (New Words in Czech language. Dictionary of Neologisms 1, 2, Prague 1998, 2004).
Analysis presents and assesses their motivation, productivity and variability of their formation, language origin, semantics and stylistic features. Represented word-formation means (affixes) are confronted with the data and characteristics listed in the Dictionary of Affixes Used in Czech (Prague 2016) and on the basis of this comparison, tendencies in the formation of new names of persons in current Czech are determined.
