Abstract
The review briefly presents the publication by M. Hrdlička: Chapter on Czech as a non-mother tongue as a practical compendium of current and important linguistic topics, partials, questions for consideration, inspiration and realization.
The book reflects the fundamentality and constantity of many of the topics, the author constantly returned to them in his previous practice, with similar and new experiences, gradually enriching them with his own knowledge and experience, as well as by reflecting on theoretical research in Czech, selective and foreign linguistics and didactics. Overall, it is necessary to appreciate the author's consistent focus on didactic practice and the effort to bring the Czech reader closer to the view of Czech from the position of a foreign-language speaker.
