This article is a requested free transcript of a lecture on the topic comparison of urgent and intensive medicine presented by the author at the training course of the Czech Medical Chamber "Emergency Medicine and intersections with other fields "on December 7, 2019 in Prague. Urgent and intensive care medicine are disciplines that deal with the care of the sick in an acute condition.
At first glance, these are almost similar fields, however, a closer look puts the situation more complicated. In another text, the author discusses the similarities and differences urgent and intensive care medicine, paying more attention to differences.
This is a subjective view of the author, which may not be the same with the opinion of all representatives of both professional communities.
