The aim of the "Living Molecules: towards Integrative Biophysics of the Cell" meeting was to highlight complementary biophysical methods and approaches, and to showcase examples of research successfully using them, striving to describe and understand life at a molecular - supramolecular - subcellular scale. The integration of different biophysical, imaging, and structural biology techniques is what allows us to bridge the gap between atom and cell, which is needed for studying complex biological systems.

Going from single molecule biophysics and structures to higher order of assembly, function and information, from dead matter towards the living cell - this is where the challenges and opportunities in the field lie, and where this meeting provided a significant added value. This meeting was the 8th meeting of Association of Resources for Biophysical Research in Europe (ARBRE) community and the 4th annual plenary meeting in the context of the COST Action CA15126 Molecular Biophysics in Europe (MOBIEU)
