Abstract
The study contemplates possibilities for a closer understanding of the society of university masters and seeks to approach them though inventories of their libraries. As an example, it gives the inventory of the estate of master Jakub Codicillus (+ 1576) which provides a record of some 216 printed books.
The study presents the contents of this library.
