The article examines the works of Jan Ignác Dlouhoveský (1638-1701), specifically the publications about the patron saints. Dlouhoveský is a less well-known writer, but he published approximately forty books about the Holy Virgin, the patron saints and the pilgrimage places.
The study deals with the phenomenon of patron saints and its specifics: the connection with the Marian cult, a patron saint as an instrument of the baroque patriotism and historicism.
