Confidentiality of the client's communication with the lawyer from the point of view of internal investigations

Abstract

If the client addresses a lawyer with a request to conduct internal investigations, it gives the lawyer unrestricted access to the client's internal documents and procedures. For an internal investigation to be properly conducted with necessary conclusions, the lawyer must detect and point out any errors of his client.

Such documentation is extremely sensitive for the client, so it is necessary to consider whether other persons, such as law enforcement agencies, can gain access to it.
