Otherness of hearing loss - the need for interpersonal respect and esteem

Abstract

The paper focuses on the issue of perception of hearing impairment in the context of the development of eugenic thinking and the Second World War. It traces the connection between the historical development, the social atmosphere and the ethically problematic and controversial areas of eugenic attitudes.
