Abstract
The author summarises theoretical background of folk linguistics and presents an analysis of folk linguistics as it can be reconstructed from Internet discussions by Czech-speaking women. The results show that the folk theory of language is complex, with multiple connections to the scientific theory and with important evaluative features.
The author proposes a new Czech term (laická jazykověda) and suggests that the theory should be seen as dynamic and structured.
