Abstrakt
The research is based on a analysis of sources and on the context of Francysk Skaryna's epoch, what brings the Skaryna Studies to a qualitatively new level. Furthermore, this is the first work that summarizes the views on configuration, symbolism, authorship of his portrait, opening large possibilities for understanding the Ruthenian Bible.
A leitmotif of examination of Francysk Skaryna's portrait in the context of the Czech-German portrait painting / graphics of the epoch leads us through the entire monography.
