House dust mite allergy - can we treat more efficiently? Part II. Experiences from praxis

Publication |
2020

Abstract

House dust mite (HDM) allergy is in Middle Europe most common and significant form of non-seasonal inhaled allergy. In the previous part we summarised actual know ledge about this most common perennial allergy.

Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) as the only causal treatment with the potential to change the disease development was introduced. In this part we present our own experience with provocation tests and with sublingual (SLIT) HDM tablet.

We demonstrate possible difficulties which must be calculated to ensure the adherence to SLIT. Sufficient cumulative dose must be taken to assure effect of this type of treatment.
