Karel Havlíček Borovský belonged to the most know personalities of Czech journalistic and political life during the 19th century and his fame reached beyond the borders of Czech lands. His work and life were also reflected among fennomans, who highly appreciated that Havlíček published his newspapers in the national language, which led to comparing him with the leading personalities of Finnish journalism.
Also his democratic ideas echoed among the Finns and even the dreary fate of his person and family was not unnoticed.
