Jaroslav Hašek:The Fateful Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk During the World War volumes 1 and 2
Abstract
Vận mệnh người lính tốt Švejk trong đại chiến Thế giới is a Vietnamese translation of Jaroslav Hašek's novel The Fateful Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk During the World War. This is the first time that Hašek's work has been translated in its entirety into Vietnamese (with translator's notes), with complete color illustrations by Josef Lada.
The first volume (volumes 1 and 2, 2000 copies) was published on November 14, 2020 in Hanoi. The second volume (volumes 3 and 4, 2000 copies) will be published in 2021.
The translation received a grant "Program to Support the Publication of Translations of Czech Literature Abroad" of the Ministry of Culture, additional significant support from the Czech Embassy in Vietnam, as well as from Vietnamese and Czech sponsors.
