Abstract
Based on the study of printed sources, we will try to map the history of the now almost forgotten six congresses of Czech (Czechoslovak) naturalists and physicians, which took part between 1880 and 1928. They played an important role in the development of natural and medical sciences and opened the way for our scientific community to organize international congresses and seminars.
We will indicate what problems the organizers faced and how the Czech professional and lay public reacted to the congresses. At the same time, we will show what role Czech mathematicians played in their organization, how they participated in them and how they presented the results of their work.
