Abstract

A series about Czech contemporary composers who deal with vocal music for solo voice and organ. Composer, teacher, pianist and organist Jan Bernátek (*1950) composed more than 100 compositions, most of which are vocal works for solo voices (secular and sacred songs) or choirs and organ compositions.

The composer's main sources of inspiration include Moravian folklore and sacred music. The article is supplemented by an interview with Jan Bernátek.
