The contribution by J. Hnilica and T.
Mikeska provides - in the comparative publication "Education about Europe and the European Union at school" - a look into the Czech context of the current situation on this issue. Attention is focused on the place of the topic "Europe" in contemporary Czech schools.
The authors are convinced that the Czech perspective can enrich today's European debate on the topics of common history and identity. For this reason, the study points to the formation of the Czech question, the situation of national history in the 20th century or the difference in the chronology of Czech "Europeanism".
The main focus is on the place of teaching about Europe in the current Czech curriculum.
