Abstract
The article deals with the rise of the Fifth Dynasty and confronts the legend about its accession with the archaeological finds made by the Czech expedition in Abusir in the past fifty years. The text also refers to the reasons of founding the Fifth Dynasty's royal cemetery at Abusir.
