Abstract

In the Assumption of Mary's Chapel of the Křivoklát Castle , in the spirit of the idea of the royal representation of the Dynastie Jagiellonians - Renovatio regni, respect for the Czech saints patrons is emphasized (statues on the poles of the chapel choir, depicted on the outside of the altar retable wings). It was an attempt to programmatically build on the previous ruling dynasties, especially the successful government of Emperor and King Charles IV.

The Křivoklát Chapel was a reliquary chapel (reference to Sainte Chapelle), as in the front of the altar there were, as the paintings of angels with Arma Christi reveal, relics of Christ's suffering.
