The History of Study of the Mutual Lexical Borrowings in Russian, Vepsian and Karelian Dialects

Abstract

The chapter deals with the research literature referring to the study of the Northern Russian, Vepsian and Karelian dialects. The works described here include monographs, dissertations, articles and dictionaries, as well as dialect and linguistic atlases.

Attention is primarily paid to Russian linguistic studies from the middle of the 1800s until the present.
