Abstract
The chapter presents the role of Otokar Fischer in mediating the work of Frank Wedekind into Czech theatrical and literary life, which was - not only in the year of Wedekind's Lula by František Zavřel 1914 - the focus of several fundamental debates forming the picture of Czech and German modern culture and self-understanding.
