A famous novelist to be rediscovered: L'esclussa in the context of the reception of works by Luigi Pirandello in Czech and Slovak

Abstrakt
The article deals with the reception of Luigi Pirandello's novels in Czechoslovakia in the early twentieth century. It comments in detail on the data of the bibliographic review of Pirandello's narrative works published in Czech and Slovak in the given period and investigates the role played in the selection and promotion of Pirandello's texts by Václav Jiřina, translator of Pirandello and his literary agent in Czechoslovakia in the period between the two wars.
