Abstract
According to Father John S. Romanides in the Orthodox Christian Patristic tradition genuine spiritual experience is the foundation of dogmatic formulations, which are necessary guides for leading to glorification - which is the Biblical term for Theosis - Deification.
Orthodox theology also depends on an instrument which is not identified with reason, the Biblical term for this instrument is the heart.
