Abstract
The study maps the issue of 1918's commemorations in modern Czech history. It asks about the continuity and discontinuity in the Czech culture of remembering.
It shows the forms of rituals in the interwar period, the layering of new moments in celebrating after 1945 or 1948. Based on an analysis of contemporary sources, it also studies the impact of the First Republic memory in social rituals of communist Czechoslovakia before 1989.
Finally, it analyzes the anniversary of the Czechoslovak republic during the year 2018.
