Abstract

The questionnaire survey of students of Teaching for Primary School examined their experience and opinions on teaching homeland studies. The research probe was realized as a part of a broader survey carried out in the project Support of undergraduate education at Pedf UK-activity Strengthening didactic knowledge of content and development of professional vision of students.

The students studied in the academic year 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 attended the subject Development of didactic knowledge of content through video club-homeland studies. The questionnaire was constructed by professional didactics of various disciplines and the selected data were qualitatively analyzed.

The results show that students have little experience in teaching homeland studies. Nevertheless, students are mostly looking forward to the future teaching of this subject.

One of the sources of concern for future education is the feeling of lack of knowledge of subject content and pedagogical knowledge of content.
