Trends in Aging in Great Britain

Abstract

The aging in the society in Czech republic and Great Britain is different. We can see much more positive and aging friendly approach for elderly in Great Britain than In Czech Republic.

The elderly population in the UK is much more participating on active life style, travelling abroad, living abroad and attending different classes such a dance classes, language classes than in the Czech republic. The are also much more participating on the economy input than Czech seniors.

According the data of British National statistics office ( 2015-2017)the life expectancy is not anymore prolonging since 1982. The average lifespan for women is 82.9 years and for men is 79.2 years.

We can see quite often than 70 years old people are looking after their parents who are in their 90's so this is now become concerns during the Pandemic Covid 2019 and requirements being self isoloting and shielding for very vulnerable population. The biggest concerns are increased depression among already vulnerable individuals and risk of suicidum tendenceis in aging society.
