Abstract

Differentiated thyroid carcinoma has a good prognosis, low mortality, although its incidence is increasing, especially microcarcinoma. According to a retrospective analysis of overall patient survival, differentiated microcarcinoma has very good overall survival.

For the fulfillment of other criteria, hemithyroidectomy is now recognized as a sufficient procedure, resp. method of choice.
