Abstract

In her book Second World, Second Sex (2019), the American anthropologist Kristen Ghodsee deals with the rehabilitation of women's activism in post-war socialist states in the context of international cooperation of women's organizations during the United Nations Decade for Women (1976-1985). The article follows the author's problematic argumentation, based on theoretical concepts of socialism, and offers other possibilities for research into women's activism in socialist Czechoslovakia.
