We report a study of quantum turbulence in superfluid helium generated by a high amplitude wave of temperature (second sound) in a closed square-cylinder resonator. We have investigated steady state turbulence at three temperatures, generated using three different resonant modes.

The amount of quantized vortices was determined from the attenuation of low amplitude second sound oriented transversally. The goal of this work is to identify the parameters describing the onset of flow instabilities.
