Lesson Study as a method of professional development of teachers

Abstract

The article presents a method of professional development of teachers called Lesson Study. It also reflects the authors' personal experience with this method.

When using the method, teachers are partners at all phases of teaching: planning, implementation and evaluation. The main benefit of the Lesson Study method is the constructive feedback from colleagues.

Thanks to effective work of the teachers involved, the produced and realized output can meet the needs of modern didactic trends, when students develop a complex (geographical) thinking using a threephase learning model.
