Abstract
The text focuses on the concept and current methodological equipment of business history as an independ-ent discipline. Against the background of developments in the world, the birth and methodological equipment of Czech historiography with an emphasis on the Prague School of Economic History is discussed.
It is a research center, a free group of economic historians centered around the Institute of Economic and Social History of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, born in the early 1990s. It emphasizes historical methods, analytical concepts of research and is supportive of interdisciplinary approaches.
