Abstract
The article deals with early stories written by the contemporary Ukrainian prose writer Oleh Shynkarenko (collection called How to Disappear Completely) and also his unpublished novel Enjoy your meal! The study depicts the extraordinary character of Shynkarenko's prose in the context of contemporary Ukrainian literature, especially that of the 1990s and 2000s. The main goal of the article is the thorough analysis of Shynkarenko's creative strategies and style of the above-mentioned prose works.
