The device for assessing the susceptibility of beer to damage by optical radiation

Publication

Abstract

The subject of the utility model is a device for assessing the susceptibility of beer to damage by optical radiation. The device makes it possible to illuminate beer in a closed bottle with light radiation of a defined spectral composition and a defined intensity for a defined time.

At the same time, the device makes it possible to record changes in the optical parameters of the sample before and after exposure, or during exposure or at intervals between individual partial exposures. The magnitude of changes in optical parameters after defined exposure are proportional to the degree of light damage.

From the magnitude of the optical changes, it can be concluded that the beer in a given bottle is prone to damage to its sensory properties due to exposure to light radiation.
