We report a study on a single crystal of the ordered heavy fermion compound Ce3Al11 grown by Al-flux. Three transitions are observed.
A ferromagnetic one at TC = 6.2 K which is followed by an antiferromagnetic one at TN = 3.4 K and a third one at T1 = 2.7 K. This lower one has not been reported before.
It's origin is unknown, and unlike the other two the transition is of first order type. We infer the appearance of the T1 transition to a smaller unit-cell volume of our samples which acts like hydrostatic pressure.
