Motivation of children from Children's home to education

Abstract

The contribution describes institutional care in the Czech Republic with a subsequent focus on children's home and motivation of children educated within this facility. The aim is to present a research survey to find out whether children educated in a children's home are motivated to learn.

A qualitative strategy, anamnestic study using the interview method (N = 20) was chosen. The result shows that children are insufficiently motivated to educate the children's home and the biological family.

Low motivation is related to the results of studies, which show that children from children's homes are most often educated at vocational school level.
