Abstract
The book represents a concentrated attempt at a synthetic interpretation of the history of the Reformation in Germany, Switzerland, France, England, Scandinavia and Central Europe. It examines the Reformation as a broad process related to the development of book printing, education and social and political conditions in individual countries.
It also describes the influence of the Reformation on art and on the birth and development of capitalism.
